This simulation model is run on all internal regulators at once: the two step-down converters “Buck1” and “Buck2” as well as the boost converter “Boost”. For details on these circuits please refer to the Datasheet. Please be aware that “Buck2” and “Boost” are supplied by the output of “Buck1”. The load current imposed to “Buck1” by these secondary stages is displayed in the result table as “Second stage load”. The losses of all three regulators are added up and dissipated to ambient via “Rth_ja”. Therefore the loss contribution of any stage will increase the junction temperature accordingly. An external diode is necessary to be used for the “Boost” converter. This template does not model the “pulse-skipping feature” on “Buck1”.
